Synopsis:

My TV was working quite well for a while... until I migrated to Windows Media Player 10. And now, it is completly sluggerish, and some chanels event don't display at all.
The problem now is that I can't go back to WMP9 to see if it's good again.

The logs shows hundreds of errors "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." (I copied just few of them)

Hi, now the problem arises that technically WMP10 is only a revamped 9 with pretty trimmings. the main core is the same.
I would say something else, may have screwed things up.
Have you a backup of MP folder that you could use ?
If you decide to uninstall and reinstall using existing data in MP folder, see if that works.
If you decide to go for a recent svn (dvr-cuts a beast) you will need to totally reinstall MP from scratch as TV side will not carry over from updated svn, hence retune required.

Well, actually it's very weird. I did a new clean install as you suggested, I installed the latest SVN build also.
Everything was working fine again... then I came back 1 hour after, the computer woke up from Hibernate, and again the same errors with tons of "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
Proper reboot didn't change anything, and now I'm back to starting point.

The problem now is that I can't go back to WMP9 to see if it's good again.

Add/remove programs - check the box "show updates"
Now you can remove WMP10.
Dont think it would help though....

Try uninstalling the cinergy software, including the TVcard driver.
Then reboot and reinstall software, see if that helps.
Recommend all windows updates installed because it sounds like you are missing something on your system.

Well, actually I reinstalled completly my system (it needed a refresh anyway), and the problem has gone (but didn't installed WMP10.. we never know )
