This product support harware encoding for:
- Divx (official)
- Mpeg 1
- Mpeg 2
- Mpeg 3

This product work fine on GAM and Windvd Creator 2, but not on MP
(Sometime i've the picture but no sound) and use actually a non WDM diver.

I would also like to know if the convertx card will be fully supported, since I plan on buying one.

[BTW]
What I don't understand is that this card can do what a pvr-250 can, PLUS hardware-encode DivX. Why isn't everyone standing in line to buy/use/support this card? Is the quality perhaps not as good as with the Hauppage PVR-cards?
[/BTW]

Thanks!

The Convertx's and PVR 350's Mpeg2 Recording is the same (Intervideo).
I Have'nt deteted any visible differrence.

But if i compare The Convertx HQ Divx and the PVR350 Intervideo HQ Mpeg2.
The Real difference is in the sound. The Video quality is praticly the same...

It's my opinion.

Psi[4]icK,

Are there any things you CAN do with the PVR-350 in MP, that you CAN'T do with the Convertx in MP? In other words, is the Convertx practically (not officially) supported by MP?

Thanks!

Plextor Hardware DIVX encoder

HI,

I wanted to push this thread up again. Are there any news about this card? Could someone who uses it post his experience? I'm very interested in this card but it has to work 100% in MP and the Quality should be as good as using a PVR 150. Has somenone tried it already?

Actually I'm not sure if the USB solution is that good in that case but may be my feelings are wrong.

... I really would like the idea of realtime DIVX encoding...

Thanks a lot,
Andinaegnaeg

    Hi,

I think we could probably get this working in MPEG-2 mode as this is the requirement for the Stream Buffer Engine use to do Timeshifting in MP.

To get it working in MPEG-4 mode etc will require a plugin to be developed and then again the timeshifting function will not be supported.

I will need remote access to someones machine or a unit to play with.
Also the TV402U could probably be made to work with TV too.

Recording works good on 0.1.07, but i don't have sound.

Note that Viewing/recording woks only in VMR9 but it is very slow, and the picture "Jump" at all time...

    ConvertX PVR PX-TV402U

I have one. Tried it once with MP and tv viewing did not seem to work. So I would not expect this to work without someone putting some effort into it. If I can help to get this up and running I would be glad to. I am an informatician, however I have no experience with CVS / sourceforge or with multimedia content so my help (and my time) may be limited to to trying some things out. I extracted the information from graphedit as instructed in one thread. However I don't know to whom I should post this.

    Koen.
