I'm currently running .2.3 on my HTPC and everything has been going fantastic using the built in TV functionality.

I have now got a spare PC which I can use as a TV Server, but before migrating across I just want to get a feeling for peoples success with it...

at the moment, i'd rate MyTV as a 9.5/10....what would you rate TV Server?

also, how much CPU usage reduction can I expect on my current box which would become a client? at the moment, it uses appro 20% CPU decoding standard definition digital from my Compro card.

If you've got a good working solution with the built in TV Engine then I would advise you to stick with it until the first major version of TV Engine 3 is released. If you're curious you could always backup your current config and try TVE3.

Being a fellow Australian I can tell you that TV Engine 3 has some issues with our Digital TV (at least it does for some of us). For example, it won't record Mythbusters for me and has just started messing up Judge Judy too.

I've got a few ideas to try and get it to work, but so far my setup is not 100% ...

As for a reduction in CPU ... I don't expect you would see much difference if any. The DVB-T tv signal is MPEG2. The CPU utilization associated with dealing with the TV card is very very small. There is no significant CPU load associated with having the card inside the PC. Your CPU load is due to handling the MPEG2 stream and that probably would not change much, if at all.

    Hope that helps,
