Ok i was asuming that your local system clock setting was correct.

Dan maybe your problem was that the xmltv plugin had to pick up the tvguide.xml, that is done every few minutes.
In the plugin you can check the time it was picked up.

You can force Mc2xml everytime by selecting "-g" flag. If you want i can post my simple script. The script is the one i scheduled.
I keep a logfile too because ones in a while mc2xml does not pick up new information for some reason.

If you want to know how the thanking works, below every post there is a "thanks" button. It's just as easy as pressing this button

For what it's worth I had been using the SchedulesDirect plug-in and paying SD a $20 annual fee for a couple o' years. This Summer I found the mc2xml route and combined with the terrestrial listings from microsoft.com I'm no longer paying an annual fee. I don't know if you all have figured your stuff out yet but the time offset is meant to be an offset from GMT but as I recall mine's set to 0 as one of the guides says not to fool with it. I do not use the MP scheduler tab to trigger the mc2xml but a windows task manager to run a batch file every morning (at 4 am). The xmltv plug-in will import new data anytime it sees a new tvguide.xml file - it checks once per minute in a polling process.

My system clock settings were correct! I simply did not have Windows auto adjusting for Daylight Savings Time. It really surprised me when clicking that box actually fixed the 1 hour offset problem in the guide. Apparently mc2xml.exe is looking at that setting. Or MS is doing more, probably much more, than the boxes text implies.

Wow! Those buttons are so small I had not even noticed them. I couldn't read them until I had zoomed my Firefox display twice.
Could just be time for new glasses!
I have now used the thanks button, it's the leftmost button if any other blind folks are looking for it.

OK, that makes sense and sure explains why my one hour offsets were not working.

I have noticed most are running mc2xml daily. I am curious as to why, I'm getting two weeks of guide data per download?

Thanks for that info Andrew! No telling how much time it saved me. I would have dug through both the TV Server Config app and the MP Confg, scratching my head, trying to figure out where to tell MP to auto. import the tvguide.xml.

Thank you! Right now all is well with me and MP. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions as I get more into the app. but I think the Tv Guide is working great, hope it keeps it up.

The "why" run the mc2xml daily is a convienence of task scheduling. The mc2xml uses your last data file's header to determine what (data) you last got and gives you the new data. This new data may be within the 2-weeks, or at the end of what you last had - all you know is it's 'new.' So, it doesn't hurt to run it daily and it keeps you current.

Makes sense. I've used a Dish Network PVR/DVR for years, had I been thinking I would not of even ask this question. If I scan more than a week ahead with the Dish PVR I have to wait and wait and wait for it to download new data. Running mc2xml daily should keep me a good two week guide, great.

Thanks Andrew! A remote came with my Hauppauge 1600 but I have not set it up for use yet. I've been trying out PVR apps. on my personal box, pretty sure I've found the one I was looking for. I have a very outdated TVPC that I've been using for several years. It's a 1.6 or 1.8 GHz box and has less than a gig of ram. I've been using a Snapstream remote and the Beyond Media software that came with the remote. I plan to build a new TVPC soon and will probably need help with the Hauppauge remote.

Using the Hauppauge with MP is a snap - just got their site and get IR.exe and load it. Then in the MP-config under REMOTE pick the Hauppauge and that's about it! Sure, you may want/need to tune the delays (on that same MP-config page) to keep it responsive yet not over-responsive, but using it is a snap!

Glad you're enjoying MP - maybe one day you'll get a HDTV and a matching HTPC so you can jump up to 1080 and leave that S-Video behind!

Glad to hear the Hauppauge remote will not be a major pain to setup. I didn't think I would ever get the Snapstream figured out; it was easy enough when just using the Beyond software that came with it. Making it work with any other software requires writing a script, really not to bad once you get it figured out but very tough getting started.

I am really enjoying MP! The old TVPC is connected to a Zenith 46 in. HDTV via DVI now. The old PC does not handle 1080 very well but I still watch much more TV on it than Sat. I may get an HDTV for the office, the sys. in My System specs., but I seldom watch TV in here. Right now I'm just using MP to record live TV then watch it on the HDTV in the living room.

I have a few more questions, not related to EPG so I'll see if I can find the appropriate forum and start a new post. I do appreciate all your help.
