I was a member ages ago but never got around to getting my HTPC project underway. Now i noticed TV cards have dropped in price, so i thought i'd check back on u guys (needed a new account).

Last i saw software cards weren't support but now the Leadtek TV2000 is listed as supported. I have 1.7 processor will this be ok for MP and TV2000 or 2.8 essential?

Also does the included remote work yet with MP

    Hi PainToad Welcome back

    In a ideal world the higher spec pc is the best, but a lot of people out there are using MP on low/mid spec pc's and MP works for them.
    So try it. Nothing to break :D

    Stay away fom software cards, they are not worth the couple of $$$ you save.

    I have a winfast (Leadtek) PVR2000 which is an H/W card and also the poorest performing card in my collection of TV tuner cards.

    If you want to go analog, then go for Hauppauge PVR150 or PVR500

    This is the list of cards I own + my rating of these cards:

    Hauppauge PVR250 ; Rating: +
    Hauppauge PVR500 ; Rating: ++
    Winfast PVR2000 ; Rating: -
    DigitalNow TwinDVB-T Tuner ; Rating: ++
    Medion analog s/w 7134 ; Rating: --

    Have fun spending your $$$ on a good card.
