I have a few questions I need help with. I'll start by telling you my setup. I have a 40inch HD tv I'm using as my monitor. I had to set the DPI (custom text) to 145 in order to read the words because I have my resolution set at 1920x1080. I'm also using Windows 7 with Mediaportal v1.1.0 and Myfilms v4.8. The skins that I was trying to use are Black And White 1080, Xface and Monochrome.

As for my question. Is there a way to change the text size because some of the text and items are to big and over lap each other. I've tried right clicking on mediaportal and going to properties, then compatibility then disable display scaling on high dpi settings. This doesn't really fix the problem and I'm getting frustrated.

Also another question that I have is it possible to put a moving background on? Like I want to play a small .wmv file in the background that is looping. I want to put this dreamscene file (Vista Ultimate Aurora HD) as my background which I think would look amazing with Xfaces layout/buttons.

Thank you guys so much for your help in advance. :)

Btw I love this program and just started using it two days ago when I found Ant Movie Catalog.

welcome to the comunity!

As far as I know it is not possible to use the larger fonts. You should keep it at normal.

About the dreamscene thing. I actually like the idea. But I doubt very much that this is possible. I would welcome such a thing though.

If you like Ant movie catalog, you should give Moving Pictures a try.... :) But I think version 0.8 contains what you are looking for. :)

If you like ant movie catalog you will like My Films and as edterbak already suggested moving pictures is awesome too.
Changing DPI scaling is still problematic in MP, as you have noticed. You could go edit the fonts.xml and change stuff there to have bigger text but you will have problems with stuff overlapping since the skin is not designed for larger fonts than the one it displays by default.

afaik you can't have a video as background constantly. You can however change the background to the video that's curently playing, some skins have buttons for that.

Ok so I fixed my font issues. I'm not sure if this is why it's working on not, but I thought I'd share it. I unistalled everything, put my dpi to 145 like I had. Installed the programs (mediaportal 1.1.0, My movies v0.7.5.681 and xfactor) then I right clicked on the mediaportal shortcut before clicking on it and running it and went to properties, then compatibility then disable display scaling on high dpi settings. I checked it then booted up mediaportal. I closed it after it cashed everthing. Then I went back into properties, then compatibility then clicked disable display scaling on high dpi settings again. Went back into media portal and all the font is fine. :) Nothing is overlapping and it's fine.

Thanks guys for all the help. I think I like my movies better. :) Can anyone tell me the features that will be in my movies 0.8? Also I had a problem when my movies was downloading backdrops my avg came up and said one of the pictures had a virus (Me, Myself & Irene, Wayne's World). Did anyone have a problem like that before?

Hi Rezman,

Thank you for sharing your expeerience. Please do tell if you have any issues with your solution.

But... May I suggest you scroll through the forum a little bit to get familiar. It is built up rather logically. So regarding the MovingPictures question; I dont think we need to point you in the right direction every time.

But, since I took the effort to reply, I might as well give you the push in the right direction.
See the link below:

Oh yeah, regarding the virus thing. It has been mentioned earlier in the moving pictures thread. But no proof of the cause has been given.
When tests to confirm the virusus are being done by others, no virus is found... So was the virus already there or...??
Best is just to remove the infected file and download the backdrop manually.

Thanks for this. I stopped using large fonts because of the exact same issue with XP.
I will play around with your work around and see if it works for me.

Ok I read about Moving Pictures Social already. I though it was a branch off moving pictures, but I didn't think it was version 0.8. Sounds cool.

As for the virus thing I know for sure it wasn't already there and it came with the backdrops it was downloading. I have a fresh install of windows 7 with avg put on first then did a scan. I have no idea how to download the backdrop manually, but I went online and got a picture to replace it then put it in there.

Also I hope my work around works for you. :)
