I really hope someone can answer me on this as I see these in the supported lists but without much info. In case anyone's wondering I'm need USB because it's a notebook and I would also very much love to have a working remote

Is the Terratec Cinergy Hybrid XS the best USB TV tuner card? I really can't seem to find much else, except for the Pinnacle PCTV310e . I am asking about these two as they also have other inputs which I need.

Any opinions or any other cards I've missed? How easy are these things to get working? :?

Came across the Hauppage HVR 900 a while ago but the thing has no remote. :x What is my best bet? There must be a few of you here who can answer my question.

Is there something you guys need to know before suggesting this or are USB hybrids rarely used with MP that nobody knows anything about them?

Laptops rarely have the power, so if your looking at a hybrid card, you need a 2.8 Ghz or equivalent processor.
Also trying to run a dvb-t, on an internal aerial will get you diddly squat.
The transmitters in the UK have a power reduction, because they interfer with the analogue signals, although things are getting better, unlike Japan and a few other Major Oriental Citys a internal aerial is next to useless in the UK.
Now connected to an external aerial that is a different matter, also one that supports SVHS input is a advantage (for connecting external source).
Poor support for remote control (unless optional extra), a bit dissappointed on this, thought there might be more manufacturers supplying them by default, but obviously not.

Was going to suggest a lifeview product, but again remote optional ?

Hope a suggestion comes up that meets your needs.

Well, no worries on the aerials as there will always be an external one :D. It's the lack of any inputs other than RF + lack of remote on the HVR900 made me reconsider purchasing it(I almost confirmed an order an amazon before I posted here).

CPU wise, if the laptop can't handle it (it should be able to), well, I'll use it on another machine that's sitting here so it won't be going to waste so long as it's USB 8)

What Lifeview product do you have in mind and how well do they work with MP? Remote is pretty much not optional; bear in mind that it'll be a lot to carry around if the remote unit is kept seperate with its own IR/RF receiver.
