I have been using MP for a while now and have had no problems with it. I mainly use it for watching videos and have just started encoding some of my videos using Nero. The MP is a standalon system to I encode on my PC and then transfer the files over to MP.

All my xvid / divx videos let me use the fourway arrows on the MCE remote to skip fowards and back, but I have just found that the nero file will only skip by pressing up and what seems like a whole chapter, not the 15sec jumps etc.

I had to install nero on the MP machine to get the files to play (I could not find a codec that would ply them otherwise)

Is there a way to allow the nero files to skip in the same way as the xvid / divx files?

I never experienced the issue you described, but I was unable to play nero files at all. I found a thread that recommended a complete removal of all codecs installed and then install ffdshow. Now all I have is ffdshow, AC3filter and Haali media splitter(no idea what that is for but it was recommended).

I am now able to play nero files without nero installed and the skip/fast forward functions works fine. The only feature that is missing is the ability to resume a nero file from where you last stopped watching it.

Sorry I can't find the thread at this time, but it was something to do with mp4 issues.

Hope this helps you out!

Brad
