The stuttering began after five to ten minutes and became worse the longer the movie played, until the system went completely unresponsive. After some examination, I found out that one of the svchosts processes ate a LOT of memory. Took a look at that process with process explorer, and found out that it belonged to the "Nvidia helper service ". I disabled that service, and all the other Nvidia services.
