I was afraid I'd have to learn to use linux and figure out mythtv. And I am very impressed at this project so far.</p><p></p><p>Here is my issue. I have a P4 2.8 ghz, 1GB ram computer. I also have a 22 inch monitor, and am headed off to college soon. I figure being able to combine things bit, and also having the cool factor would be nice.</p><p></p><p>So here it goes. I have an older box, 2.4 ghz, celeron that I could use. But I would like to know how having the tv tuner(s) recording in the background while I am writing a paper, surfing the net, or possibly playing a game would affect the system. Would my best bet be using my primary computer as my MP system, or use that second box?</p><p></p><p>I have two wintv go-plus cards, which don't work. I also have another card from kworld that doesn't work with MP either. So I am on the search for a good card. I looked around, and the wintv pvr 500 looks good, mostly because it has two tuners built in. Is it a good card? Will it work out of the box without giving me too much trouble? What about a remote?
