    He Guys,

I need your help.... I'm sick of having probs with playing HD livetv in EVR modus. VRM9 is running smooth.
I have a lot of hick ups in the menu and the mini tv is stuttering like......

So i was thinking, maybe i need to swop some hardware, like a videocard?!

If so, what do you guys suggest?

    Tnx in advance Oekie;)

    Hi.

8600 GT is on thin line will it ever be able to playback Full-HD live tv with EVR. It has a bit less power for HD playback
than my 8400GS(G98 chipset) and a bit less processing power for 3D gui of Mp. I'm using 258.96 drivers and Full-HD sometimes work, sometimes not.
But My Philips 42" plasma has only 1280 x 720 native resolution, so I lowered resolution from full-hd(1920x1080) to Tv's native resolution. Now everything plays fine.
It is worth of trying, if your TV has native resolution less than full-hd res. Otherwise i'm afraid you need to get new graphic card.

    Br,

yo Oekie...i have almost identical parts in my pc
    same cpu, gpu, ram

i usually run at 720p(1280x720) as my TV is native to that resolution...tho its compatible with 1080i(1920x1080) which ive tried and also runs ok..but i prefer the native resolution my TV tells me

i MUST run at 50Hz or else it jitters like crazy when playing TV/HD movies

    another thing..codecs

for Mpeg2 video use the MS DTV Decoder(that comes with windows 7)....its simply the best and it has hardware accelleration support with your 8600gt video card
for H264(dunno if u get TV in this format or not) use CoreAVC 2.0(make sure its 2.0!)....its simply the best codec ive ever used for anything..its not free but its worth every cent ! Your 8600gt has hardware acceleration support for this also
for audio i use the MPC - MPA audio decoder(comes with MP)

get the latest Nvidia driver for win7

i use EVR as its good for use with windows 7

also enable aero! everything runs better with aero ON (look under Personalize)

everything runs smooth and I never have any issues as long as the setup is like this ^

If you have stuttering it may be signal quality problem?

CoreAVC 2.0 did the job! I have to do some stress testing.. But for now, it rocks!!!!

Thanks to you all guys for helping me!

yea coreavc will work because it's using his powerful cpu instead of his weak graphics card =)

VRM9 (Win7) was using CPU which is why it was smooth
EVR (Win7) was using DXVA on the 8600GT (too slow) which is why it was stuttering
