I am putting together an HTPC and obviously plan to install MP.
I've been reading quite a bit on these forums about the many hardware configurations and options available but unfortunately I am still a bit confused on what I anticipate is a simple Directv (satellite) config.
Here are the basic questions.
Do I need to have two independent Directv HD receivers with outputs to two separate cards in order to watch and record two separate channels? Am I able to utilize a single receiver into a single card in order to achieve the same goal? Are there hybrid options that may make more sense?
Honestly, the hardware cost is not a huge concern but the goal of being able to watch one channel and record another all in HD is my main concern.
I appreciate any help or direction that can be provided.
