Hi all,
last night as a result of a couple of threads over on projecthtpc.co.uk I installed MediaPortal last night, using the Monochrome skin... Very nice
A couple of queries though...
1. Whislt Iam unsure if I will use the TV feature of MP (wanting to stick with VMC as the EPG seems a lot easier to mange) I tried to get the TV application to work, but I got an error message about unable to find soemthing... Sorry Icant be more precise a the moment but I do recall it being linked to a codec issue any ideas?
2. Using Mymovies, I have added and configured my system to recognise my Hi Def discs (red and blue) arhived onto various hard drives and access the information from IMDB. However I am unable to get the film information on the filmstrip view, any ideas?
3. Hi Def films eat up disc space. As such I have my films archived onto two 750 GB and about to start a thrird. Also Ihave soem SD DVDs arhcived to hard disc. Unfortuantely I can only display the films on one drive. this could make selecting a film awkward to use. Is there a software method/hack to pursuade MediaPortal to see several drives at once? I remember work IT bods refering to a symbolic link but i cant remember the context. Alternatively, is it possible to invest in, for example an extenal Hard drive system which allows you to combine all the drives as a JBOD?
4. I have soem 400 SD DVDs in my collection. I currently do not have the time or inclination to archive each one onto my HTPC/network. However Mrs Sapper and I have started to browse our film collection using MyMovies database plugin of VMC. Is there any way to get MP to access the information contained in the Database for viewing purposes?
Those are all the questions Ihave at the moment.
Shorlty Iwill install the My TV plugin and the album cover art plugin as well.
