New Laptop for Wifey - what GPU for H264? (1 Viewer)

Hey

I am buying a new lappy for wife.

Is it safe to assume that if the laptop uses one of the graphics hards listed on the PDVD9 site then it will do h264 HW decoding?

8/9 series nvidia or 4/5 series radeon

Also depends what sort of h264 hardware decoding you want to do.

h264 720P/1080P bluray/mkv rips 'VS' 1080i live HDTV

Nvidia Low 8/9 series / ATI Low 3/4/5 series cards are ok for 720P/1080P, but can struggle with 1080i Live HDTV.
