I just read an interesting article about an open source codec for audio named opus, which ist the first IETF standardized open source audio codec and might be the future codec for all, as it trumps all existing codecs in terms of quality in almost every bandwidth range.

It was created in a joint effort by IETF, Mozilla, Microsoft (through Skype), Xiph.Org (maintainers of Ogg), Octasic, Broadcom and Googl, giving it some weight in the industry.

Can we get MP support for this (with the internal player)?

If someone creates directshow decoders and splitter then why not :) To be honest it will be supported probably at the same time when ffmpeg supports it and LAV implements the support.
