This in combination with a CD ripper and a MusicBrainz-lookup makes me dream: When you bought a new CD, insert it to MP2, it looks up the CD at MusicBrainz, gives you a choice of high quality covers and then just asks you whether you want to integrate it into your music library as MP3 or FLAC files. No more manual tagging.... ok, enough dreams, let's see when my real live gives me the chance to try to make it reality <img src="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7" class="smilie smilie--sprite smilie--sprite1" alt=":)" title="Smile :)" loading="lazy" data-shortname=":)" /></p><p> </p><p>Keep up the excellent work!</p><p>Michael</p></blockquote><p></p>
Hi everybody, I first have to apologize for not showing up so long - but real live work is eating me up atm. Nevertheless I try to follow whats going on via forum and git. Now I found the time to compile the movie and series branch and this is just WOWWW!!! I just added my movies folder as new share and it just worked out of the box - amazing... I had some difficulties with some of the movie covers not showing up and sometimes it took really long (like 5-10 seconds) until a backdrop was shown, but this may be related to me using a virtual machine with very limited dx capabilities. I will file proper bug reports as soon as the real live calms down a little bit (hopefully over the next weeks) As a side note, I always wondered what the "intended" way is to implement a music cd cover lookup on the server side and providing the covers to the client side - now that I saw the FanArtService and the OnlineLibrary I understood how easy it is, if you know how ;) I thought about integrating something like this for music cd covers: http://sourceforge.net/projects/album-art/ They use "boo"-scripts, which are compiled at runtime. Looks somehow strange to me, but hey why reinvent the wheel if they already have scripts for every source of covers you can imagine... No more manual tagging.... ok, enough dreams, let's see when my real live gives me the chance to try to make it reality :) Keep up the excellent work! Michael
