New Skin: Storm (2 Viewers)

Hey there, Im working on a new skin "Storm"
Its in V. Early development and ive only got a few screens done so far

video OSD screen - fully functioning Yamaha DVD player

Built on nonafo/replicant but with a modular design and vista look with changing backgrounds ( having problems with text showing properly on some screens so i will prob release it with 3/4 backdrops that work with all screens, however i suspect most people will want to pick just one and stick to that?)

As its in such early stages much is likely to be altered gfx/positioning ect but it will keep the "C" shaped button/info bars with the main window slotting in/out (see imbd.jpg for better understanding) and the bottom bar will be modular for overlays, to add time, weather, playing, news ect (when i get my head round what is an overlay and whats just a normal screen, any help greatly appreciated).
Im hoping to hake all the OSD`s run like HiFi Seperates, The video one is almost complete now

but here are a few screenshots for now

not a clue whats happening with the home screen yet but any suggestions more than welcome

quick question... did you make thumbnails for your music genres? if so, is it possible to make them available somewhere? i've been wanting to do this for a while but never got around to it

It's coming along nicely. What time are these background going to change? I like the idea of it being about 24 hours per image, this means every time i wake to a new day i'll have a new image

Good news!, They aint mock-ups. Thats a screenshot of the skin on my system, is it created, i just want to get the main screens done before i release a beta version. almost done the TV guide now!


Mine is currently changing about once every ten minutes but when it changes it hammers the cpu, not a prob in fullscreen but otherwise it can cause pausing for a few seconds so maybe once a day would be a much better idea!, Hmm just played with it while writing and realised/remembered the new "randomize" function is 100% random as the first image it randomly gets its always the first alphabetically.

Dont know who wrote the random feature but can this be fixed??

the timings coded in a weird way (1000 = approx 8s) so ill have to experiment with it to work out what 24Hrs is unless anyone can explain what the timing actually is, I can work it out but if i dont get it exact then its gonna build up and change part way through the day, not a biggie but it would be nice to get it bang on


As for the genre thumbnails, i just trawled googe images and wanged them in my genres dir.
I can upload em if you want?

BTW has anyone got the same working with the film side cos i just cant get it to work??

New Screen Finnished "Tv Guide"

No bulls**t, 6 hours in the making!! Cant believe it myself!!!!, thought 2 myself at 9 while flicking through telly that the guide was doing my head in (16:9 nonafo on a 4:3 S) so ill go do this screen quick so i can watch tv in peace. 3 in the morning and ive just finnished!

- No animation!!,Ive heard at the moment the animation engine cant cope with certain things as ive found out to my dismay, I really wanted all the prog guide to slide in to its holder like the rest of the skin does but sadly all i could get were the background and the hor/vert timebars so i decided it wasnt worth the cpu just for these so this one im afraid it a solid screen, looks pretty good tho, had to compromise on the current info at the top and squash it a bit to fit with the rest of the skin but its passable IMHO.
PS, ive already seen the weather overlap

Its currently showing 14 channels which its fine for me on my 28" 4:3 CRT but id like to get some feedback on what others recon?

My first skin was never meant to be for public, THIS ONE IS MEANT FOR IT!!! So the more input i get the better so please guys/gals let me know what you think. With your input this skin will just get better!!!

Fully functioning HiFi seperates for the OSD`s
Need to sort the fonts tho to match

Gonna go with yamaha cos that matches my amp lol
so if anyone has any HIGH RES pictures of yamaha seperates Please send me them, save me trawling google!! lol, I need them square on and showing the front maybe a bit of top like above (not decided if thats stopping or not, like the 3d effect but i also like my screen space..... hmmm....)

Might even be the basis of my home screen, stacked seperates
Who knows, just an idea!??
