I've been trying for weeks to build a HTCP using different Linux distros with a horrible failure rate. I gave up on Linux and decided to try MP because I have to use WServer 2003 for a class. I have access to a free copy of Windows Server 2003 and 2008. I'm wondering if I can use either one to run this software. I'm installing WS2003 right now on a new machine I just built: Gigabyte micro ATX G31M-ES2L mother board, Pentium 4 dual core E5300 chip, 2 GB Kingston PC5300 RAM, 500GB Western Digital Crosiar hard drive in a small cube case. WS2003 runs fine, but I'm having to reinstall it due to issues with my boot record fooling around with Ubuntu.
I haven't done the research on tuners that will pull pay TV sites yet. I'm just trying to use it to get over the air stations with an old All-In-Wonder card.
Anyway, I'm just looking for some advise on what problems I'll need to look out for or suggestions on a future tuner card. But more so, should I use WS2003 or WS2008? I'd like to run the app from the PC it's running on initially.
