Hello, I recently started working with media portal, it is an amazing software, but I am having speed issues.
well first my configuration...

( this is a dedicated PC besides my TV )

Intel Pentium Celeron 2.8 GHZ
Nvidia 8500 512 Ram. ( pcie )
HDD SATA 70 GB
Windows Vista Home Edition Premiere
1GB ram ( DDR2 533MHZ )
Capture Card: PCIE hauppage 2250 ( it even decodes QAM and all the cable channels )
remote: MCE ( works great also )
Monitor: 32 Inch LCD connected Via VGA cable.

SQL server: MYSQL 5.0 ( I decided to go with mysql because I tought it would be faster )

Screen Resolution ( 1024x768 @ 60 hz )

Logs: none ( there are no logs really everything that should work works FINE, just slow )

MP: 1.0 RC2

now ok here is my issue, I have been working with different media centers, yes I know... well with GBPVR, windows Media Center, Sage TV, etc. all of them are lacking the complete functionalty Media Portal gives so I decided to keep media portal after around 15 days of trying out all media center software that you can imagine.

as I stated before, everything works, Clear QAM channels, YES, Analog Cable Channels YES, recording YES, EPG, YES :D

but now here it is my issue, video playback is jerky filled with tearing, and right out skips, skip continue skip, ( audio and video stay in sync but they keep skipping ) when I ask for the TV guide it gets even slower, I mean SLOW to the point I have to reboot the PC. because it slows everything.

I tought well it has to be my TV input that is slowing things down, but I watched a DVD and still got the same slowness.

what puzzles me is that I have been reading all over and everywhere it seems to say that if I use the same codecs on MP I should get the same results but no... different results

I have tried to change all types of configurations, everywhere, even Nvidia Pure video, still slow. any tips or tricks
any gurus in here have that might help me ? :D
