New to MP, question about volume control (1 Viewer)

Hello everybody,

I am new to MP, in fact I am new to HTPC in general. My motivation to put up an HTPC was to get rid of all those boxes and cables in my living room. And, because I am sort of technophile...

Here is what I ended up with:

Case: Antec Fusion Remote
Power: Silverstone ST30NF Fanless
Motherboard: Zotac GeForce 9300-ITX WiFi
Processor: Intel Core2 Duo E7400
CPU Cooler: Scythe Shuriken Rev.B
Memory: A-Data 2GB DDR2-800
Storage: 1TB Seagate
Optical: LG GGC H20L
DVB-T: Hauppauge WinTV NOVA-T Stick
Input: KeySonic ACK-540 RF+ resp. RM200
SW: Win XP, AnyDVD HD, Power DVD 9 and MP 1.0.2

Everything works like a charm. Remote, LCD, timeshift. I like it!

Yet, one small issue remains. I'd like to have automagic volume control: noise reduction during commercials - back to normal after the commercial. Are there any settings or plugins that can do so? Any hint would be appreciated.

I don't think there is such a plugin as you are requesting, there is an application to help get rid of commercials in recordings - it's called comskip - search the forum and wiki for info.

OK, I think I can go without automatic volume control.
