I just got my system up and running and have a few newbie questions that I haven't been able to find answers to:

1. MP seems to allow recording two programs at the same time without objecting in the EPG (Single Colossus Card). At one point it turned one of the programs Yellow but I could not seem to remove the record settings.

2. On playback of a recorded program I have been stuck in either slow motion or fast motion and have found it difficult to stop either behavior. Is this a bug or what am I doing wrong?

Many thanks for any advice, Dave

Could you please clarify what your question is here.
If you're asking why MP allows recording multiple programs with only one card, the answer is that MP doesn't realise that you're using a blaster to control a set-top-box. It thinks all of your channels come from the same source (ie. the Colossus input) and can be recorded simultaneously by one card.

    2. On playback of a recorded program I have been stuck in either slow motion or fast motion and have found it difficult to stop either behavior. Is this a bug or what am I doing wrong?
This is not normal behaviour for recordings from a regular TV tuner. Without log files I can only guess that what you're seeing is related to a glitch at the start of the recording caused by the blaster telling the set-top-box to change channel. This is a limitation of using capture devices and blasters with MP. MP wasn't designed to support them, which is why you have to go through so many hoops to get them setup.

    My apologies for any confusion.
I am using Shef IP controller on a Directv STB.
If I schedule two programs at the same time, which will record?
What does the yellow highlighting of a program in the EPG designate?
It does not seem to allow me to cancel the recordings even though I choose DON'T RECORD.

The business of getting stuch in fast forward or even slow motion is in the midst of playing back a good recording.

Thanks again for all your answers, I just wish I could find references to them in the Wiki or the forums. Dave

Same deal applies as with a blaster.

Given that you're using a set-top-box, the answer is that MP will act like it is recording both programs but both recording files will contain the same content.
As to exactly which program is recorded in the file (ie. program from channel A or program from channel B), the answer would be what I'd call "non deterministic". By that I mean there is nothing particularly logical [from a user perspective] about which of two recordings would "succeed". In practise the recording that starts second would be the one that would succeed... but that is an academic consideration.

What does the yellow highlighting of a program in the EPG designate?
Without a screenshot, knowledge about what skin you're using, whether you've got genre colours enabled... this is basically asking an impossible question.
It could just mean that the program is currently selected/focused, but who knows - I'm not able to guess.

It does not seem to allow me to cancel the recordings even though I choose DON'T RECORD.
So you're saying that you can't cancel a recording that has started? ...or are you talking about a recording that hasn't yet started?
Both situations work fine for me, so if you want assistance please provide log files as per our normal support process:

Okay, so my guess was wrong. Like I said, I could only guess because you haven't provided the info that we need to properly assist/answer. Please provide log files if you want further assistance with this.

I have lost the sound coming from Colossus via HDMI. Windows seems to be sending sound when I test the connection but MP isn't. Recordings and live tv have no sound although all was working fine before it suddenly disappeared. A log is attached.

    Thank you, Dave
