Hi Guys,

I've been trying to use MediaPortal for a week now (downgraded from Vista Ultimate using VMC to XP Pro SP3 with MediaPortal). I am using SAF for my codecs.

Two issues I am having at the moment are that when you click My Videos, it takes a long time to open and while it's opening it uses a lot of CPU. At first, it was fine but since I used the feature that downloads movie posters and synopsis etc it takes a long time to open the folder (500+ media files in the directory). Even when you start playing a movie, and try to go back, it takes forever again to go backwards into that directory.. any ideas?

It also takes a while for the TV picture to start, and changing channels takes a while too, is this normal?

Thanks in advance.

I assume you use the folder view in MP, then yes, this takes quite long to open, that's my experience also.
BUT, if you import your videos to the database (MP client config-> Videos) then everything is really fast!

Is is higly depending on your setup (Hardware-GPU,CPU,TV Card) and codec used.

Best experience codec-wise for me is PowerDVD (7.3 or 8)
Common channel changing time in my setup with DVB-C scrambled is about 1-3 seconds, depending if the channel is on the same transponder as the channel before or not.

    cheers
