New user - Nothing works (crashes, floppydtv/avermedia) (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

Just a while ago I installed the latest media portal. I have an Avermedia digital terrestrial tuner and a FloppyDTV S2 card. I tried to configure my installation. After it listed my tuner cards correctly (it find both) it started searching the channels of my terrestrial card. But just before the end (and having found all the channels) media portal exited with a null pointer exception (as seen in the log).

Another problem I have is that I tried disabling my digi-terrestrial card just to test my satellite card. In the tuner card listing it finds FloppyDTV only (as expected) but when I press next the program does not respond. It doesnt habg or anything, but doesn't continue to the next screen either. I can press 'next' a million times without getting anything back...


Are these common problems? Is there anything I can do to sort them out? I really wanted this piece of software to work to try it out. Thanks in advance

EDIT: I think this should be transfered to MediaPortal 1 (no tv server)

You should always provide full system specs (see "My system") and logs found under \\mediaportal\logs.
This makes bug-hunting much easier for people that might be able to help you (and sorry; I am probably not one of them...).
