Hi all,

We are in christchurch and are having trouble with jitter in dvb-t but only with the hd channels. I have followed the guide of how to set everything up to get jitter free video but no luck. When I push ! While video is playing it says the detected video fps is around 10 does anyone know if that's normal.

Ps I have tried 2 diferent tuner cards a bgt3595 and a hvr2200 and also taken them to a metes place and put them in his PC but the same issues does anyone have any ideas?

    Hello NZ_Rick

    No, that is not normal.

Could you please fill in your system specifications (in your forum user profile) and post log files:

Use option 1 (for reproducible problems); view an HD channel for 30 seconds, then an SD channel for 30 seconds; then close MP and post the resulting zip file.

The logs look OK - there are a few dropped frames at start of play, but that's not unusual, and calculating from the log info it's rendering at about 50 FPS. What was the FPS reported in the on-screen render stats ?

Something weird is going on here - the 'Detd FPS' value is calculated (as an on-the-fly average) from the decoded & deinterlaced video frame timestamps, so it should be 50 or 25 FPS. If it's 10 FPS it means that a lot of frames are going missing before they reach dshowhelper....

Can you create a short (20-30 seconds) recording from a 'problem' channel and attach it please ?

first of all thanks to all those who have taken the time to help. here is the sample of recorded tv.[DOUBLEPOST=1383629022][/DOUBLEPOST]i think i might of found something. when i change the codec settings for lav from hardware deinterlacing to software deinterlacing the detected fps jumps upto 50. so im going to guess that it is a issue with the intel hd4600? is there any way to confirm this and possibly fix it?

I was just going to say... :)
The sample recording plays fine here. You have a playback/codec problem of some description in your environment. Possibly DxVA and deinterlacing 1080i is just too much load for the HD4600.

    I agree.

The HD4600 should play this absolutely fine (it's almost Intel's top-of-range GPU) - I don't have one to try, but I have two laptops with earlier Intel GPU's (i5 HD and i3 HD3000) that can play 1080i video perfectly, using LAV in DXVA2 (Native) mode with 'Hardware/GPU Deinterlacing' and 'Software Deinterlacing' not ticked (so it will automatically use the default GPU hardware de-interlacing). My LAV settings below.

If it doesn't work properly in DXVA2 (native) mode - which is normally the easiest mode for the GPU to handle - I'd check the GPU settings in case there are video quality 'enhancements' enabled which are increasing the GPU load too much.
