We in New Zealand have been well served by the thread at:

https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/ca...you-t2321.html

which will no doubt continue.

Some believe it is time to start a series of threads which stay specific to New Zealand. This means that items best dealt with in existing threads, often started by the software authors, should always be scanned before assuming it is a New Zealand Specific issue.

Three "New Zealand Specific" threads are started at this time:

New Zealand Specific - General
https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/ne...al-t31630.html

New Zealand Specific - EPG methods and issues
https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/ne...es-t31631.html

New Zealand Specific - Tuner Cards and tricks
(This one)

If anyone can identify New Zealand Specific categories which raise their head on a regular basis and which are not in the above three categories, kick off a thread with the Title format "New Zealand Specific - xxxxx"

Key items found on the ".....Both of you!!" relevant to these New Zealand Specific thread could also be linked from these threads to tidy things up.

This is the "New Zealand Specific - Tuner Cards and tricks" thread

instead of "spamming" the forum with multiple threads, you should add all useful data in the wiki area we created for area/country specifc informations ;)

thats the purpose of a wiki. store informations in a clean layout permanently.
forums are a good place for discussions, but not to store that kind and amount of "manuals".

I totally agree. I apologise for any upsets but also let's look at the situation:

We only have 4+ million people in New Zealand and most of us who have taken up using MediaPortal have no idea on how to add to the Wiki. We do not have the skills and like finding and sometimes contributing via this Forum. A few have the Wiki skills and it would be good if they would assist.

That current counters show a huge New Zealand interest when you consider the following:

    MediaPortal 1 Talk: 1847 Threads, 12,974 Posts

"Calling all MP New Zealanders (Both of you!!)" thread has 735 replies and 48,062 Views. Clearly something needs to be done and if my attempt has got administrative attention, that can only be a good thing. Are you or anyone able to help us other than mcraenz who has it on his do list?

Any Volunteers, preferably New Zealand based, Sandra my sister in Auckland has no interest.

Seriously the WIKI is in major need of a update, and that is from anyone's point of view.

More information on how to update it easily may be constructive.

example, if you look at "MediaPortal Setup" there is not one mention anywhere of MPTRAY to utilise the MCE green button to start mediaportal.

Will sign up to see what documentation i can improve on, but NZ sattelite really needs a expert (mcraenz are you reading) and more, pointing people to the relevant documentation that exists in the wiki anyway.

John, it was a nice idea, but as iloop said it would actually create duplicates of what already exists, i have enough problems searching through posts i may have a bit of knowledge with, without them being repeated.

    Cheers

Given the advice that the Wiki should be used and some out there who will do it, can you, infinityloop, as Administrator pull the New Zealand Specific - xxxx threads off the Forum before they get populated?

that could be added as a note, but not more.
because the mediaportal manual in the wiki should only contain the description of the features which are inbuild in the application.

for MediaPortal 1 and TV-Server 1 we will require the help of the community to get both application described in detail in the wiki.

i will open an thread for that very soon. :)
