Newbi: Problems with streaming to client (1 Viewer)

Hi,

coming from SageTV, just evaluating MP 1.2RC.
I have setup my server machine with TVServer and Client on the same machine, all works fine.
On my notebook I installed only the client and connected it to the server, so far so good, I see my recordings and the epg is populated, to the connection to the server is fine.
But as soon as I
- try to watch a recorded show or
- try to watch live TV

the screen freezes for a few seconds and nothing happens. I cannot watch anything, however no error message appears.
It is a Windows 7 x64 client, I tried both EVR and VMR9 as renderer and I tried ffdshow and MS DTV-DVD codecs, makes no difference.

I attached the logs from the client machine, however I did not find anything in there that would help me, maybe you experts will

It's probably a firewall problem on the client - see https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mediaportal-1-2-0-beta-540/livetv-blank-screen-no-sound-client-video-sound-works-server-97836/index7.html#post781267

There seems to be a problem with MP installation on some x64 clients - the firewall rules are not set up to allow UDP traffic to reach MP - but we don't know why exactly at present, so you need to check/set up the Windows firewall manually.

Yes, that was the problem, thanks a lot, working fine now.
But I always thought that the firewall port has to be opened for the server which listens on the port, not on the client... weird protocol!

BTW: I would improve not only the installer but also the client, I think there should be at least an error message when streaming is not possible.
