I have read the FAQ's but I'm still stuck. I am a complete pleb with this kind of thing so please be nice! :)

I'm running quite an old version of Moving pictures (and an old version of Mediaportal)

My system has run perfectly in the two years I have had it but now a problem. When a film is added to a watched folder the scraper seems to have stopped working. It finds a matching title with no problem but fails to download the data. I have tried it with numerous movies moving them in and out of the watched folder.

I followed the instructions in FAQ to add a new version of the imdb script (it now shows a current date) but the problem remains. I was quite pleased with myself for achieving this so this will give you an understanding of the level of my computer skills.

HELP!

I would rather not have to update moving pictures or mediaportal if possible as it all has worked with no problems up until now. But if you guys tell me thats what I need to do then so be it.

Thank you

AW: Newbie - help with scraper

    Hi,

Not really an answer to your question, but if it is anyway not working right now, I suggest to upgrade to latest version. Lot's of issues solved and works pretty stable.......
Also Moving Pictures has evolved quite a lot, automatically scans for new films nowadays, e.g......

OK, I have the log. Do I copy and paste the whole thing here? Or is there an easier way to get the info to you?

Use websites such as paste2.org to paste the logs in there and then provide a single link in here. That way the log is easy to read.

However those type of websites have trouble with very large log files, so then simply use the "manage attachment" feature on this forum system and attach the log file to your post. up to 100kB is no problem to attach as-is, but if the log file grows beyond that point, it will benefit you to ZIP the log file up first and then attach the ZIP file.

If you use the MediaPortal debug link in start menu it will actually generate this ZIP file for you, but if the problem relates to a specific plugin such as MovingPictures in this case, a lot of times all you have to provide is the movingpictures.log file.

OK, updated Mediaportal, updated Movingpictures, updated windows (XP)

Started loading up my drives and the scraper was working fine for the first nine watched folders added.

The scraper has now stopped working again and I'm left with the same problem. It finds the match but stalls while downloading the info

I've spent hours on this now and am about to give up with completely. :(

    PLEASE help if you can.

Well your log file doesnt say much, I don't think you had debug mode enabled. If you provide proper debug log files it will be much easier for us to help you.

This is a shot in the dark but the MediaInfo library we use is incredibly unstable, maybe try disabling this? You can toggle this under the gear icon on the Movie Importer in the config.

In any case, sorry you're having trouble. :(
