Hi guys,
just wanted to say hello, and thanks to everyone on the forum for all the tweaks and advice they've posted, I've found some really useful stuff that's really made my life easier.
I'm a newbie to Mediaportal only had it running for about 4 days now and just getting into tweaking it how I want. Have it running on a brand new unsullied Vista based virgin Dell PC straight out of the box, using a Logitech Dinovo Mini to control everything. I've removed pretty much all the bloatware and tweaked Vista as best I can, and as this PC will solely be used as a Mediacenter I'm not too worried about it being Vista and not XP.
Now my Newbie question, and sorry if this has been asked a million times before.
I'm using the most current version of VLC as an external movie player that launches when I click on a movie. Fantastic, works like a dream, but the problem I'm having is if I switch to a different view for listing the movies, such as Genre or Actor, I can't seem to launch VLC from there. I prefer these views to the generic list as I like having the movie synopsis displayed when I pass over a movie.
It just seems to do nothing, even if I open the movie details and click play it just sits and does nothing. If I click from the normal list of movies it opens VLC no problems. Had a look in the configuration and just can't see where I'm going wrong, i'm sure it's something quite simple.
hence I'm here, so any help greatly appreciated.
