It really looks very promising compared to mce (which crashes twice a week) and GBPVR which installed and worked OK but was very unintuitive and I couldn't figure how to do the simplest of things.</p><p></p><p>In mediaplayer, I can play DVDs ok and also tv films previously recorded with mce. Music and audio is also fine, as is the weather etc. The mce remote and wireless keyboard both work well.</p><p></p><p>I have got xmltv up and running and have the UK's radio times epg. The right channels are there and they are ticked. When I choose live tv, I get a simulated tv screen that shows black, white and coloured dots for a few seconds then goes black. The selected channel shows up under the picture with the program synopisis.</p><p></p><p>When I first installed the software it asked for things like antenna/cable, and options to search for videos and music etc. That all worked OK, but now I can't find where that setup routine is. Does it only run once? I have clicked on the setup icon on the desktop which has a lot of options in it, but selection of antenna/cable, types of input and output etc don't seem to be available. Where, for instance, do I tell it that I have a STB, with scart /composite input and svideo output etc?</p><p></p><p>Clearly no signal/s is/are being detected. I went through the bit that asks for city etc (I live in Spain but get sky via a pace digibx and have no terrestrial antenna available). It obviously did not detect any cities and I went through the manual tune. It searched for 5 minutes but didn't find any channels from the sky box.</p><p></p><p>I have searched this forum and googled for hours but can't find any sort of guide to setting up mediaportal with a sky box, or any posts where someone has sought help with a sky setup.
