Firstly, can i just say that this app is miles better than media centre. I was struggling to arrange my files nicely in media centre, but it took me all of 2min with MP! its also a lot smoother once loaded!!

But I have a few question..... I'm sorry if these have been covered before, but I couldn't find any definitive answers & its probably easier to list them all in one post!

1) I use my LCD TV as a second monitor, but cant seem to get MP to load on anything but my standard monitor. There is an option at the bottom of the MP general settings, but its greyed out I've read one 'answer' which suggest switching monitor priorities (I.e. TV as primary) but this just isn't suitable as then the task bar etc. would be on the TV not the monitor (unless someone can tell me otherwise )

2) I've got the black 45 button Hauppuage <sp> remote which seems to work fine as a majority. But i cant seem to find a button that loads MP as the 'green button' did for media centre? I've been reading up on key mapping (event ghost etc.) but does it really have to be as 'complicated' as that??

3) The OH has reported that when she tries to watch a DVD on full screen, it goes blank but keeps the audio!

Well, I'll hit one item.

2) If MP isn't running, it can't recieve the IR signal. So you need an external program. The IR Server Suite (which would allow, for example, you to re-map the keys of any remote to MCE commands) has a Tray launcher application. Search for "IR Server Suite".


For 1) I don't use multiple monitors, so can't help. Many people do, so I am surprised there are no replies.

For 3) I seem to recall seeing this error in other posts. But don't know the resolution. Though my first guess would be to try another codec. I'll edit my post if I come up with anything in forum searching.

Cheers for that. Have now downloaded the IR suite but not had chance to look into it just yet. Is the key mapping easy enough to figure out??

Anyone got any tips on the dual monitor situation?
