hi all, after , messing around for ages with Windows MCE I've finally been introduced to the wonderful world of Media Portal and I'm more than happy with its basic setup. Just a couple of issues if anyone can shed some light?
1. Thumbs for video files - my explorer on th8umbnail view (XP ser.pack 2, WMP 9) creates thumbnails no problem, however can't get any on MP, even with the thumbnail settings on. I Know I can create jpg files of the same name for each clip but with hundreds of clips this isnt very practical. Its mainly mpeg2 clips I pocess. Does MP generate thumbails at all?
2. In PowerDVD the clips have a certain look to them. I know once when editing with various software I know that if I didnt have 'Upperfield first' on the frame based setting I'd lose that look. Same with MP, tried all the codecs but hav ffdshow installed. Sorry its a bit of a lame description but sure someone most know the look, like a proper TV look ie if i watch a program on Satellite it looks a certain way, which powerdvd preserves, watch it through WMP or MP it looks different.
