newbie with 2 major questions (1 Viewer)

hi there,

i'm new to mediaportal, although i tried other htpc-platforms (sceneo, mce) in the last years.

reading a lot on the forum and the homepage, there are still 2 questions, i did not find any satisfying answer - hope, i was not just blind


1: is there a possibility, or are there some plugins, which allow me, ONLY to see, what MOVIES (series, documentations,...) are on tv in the epg module?

timeline is quite nice, but if you only look for specific genres (i do not look live-tv at all, but i'm interrested in recording movies), it is a little confusing.

if no possibility by now, are any of the programmers interrested in writing a plugin? i think, i am for shure not the only one interrested in such a feature?!


2: are there any efforts (or possibilitys) on remote-controlling mp via wifi, using devices as the iphone, ipad or (even better, because in my sense ) android-smartphones and tablets?

i found one iphone-application, but apart from the fact, that i am an "androider", it also seems not to be a "real" remote-control application....

seems like i really was blind. found 2 threads yesterday from guys who are trying to program mostly exaclty, what i want

have also been reading a little bit more about iPimp, but i (still) don't think, this is what i need....


about the filtered EPG (just to call it so), i'm really wondering, that no one had this idea since now - so i'm still hoping, any of the programming guys will find my idea as useful as i do. i shure will share my ideas belonging to that and help designing such plugin, if someone is interrested.

I recently tried iPiMP out and was quite impressed. Got to use my phone as remote. Even watched TVSeries on the phone
