Evening members!

Newbie to the place here! Hope ye're all well!

Great piece of software Media Portal is!

Installed it on a machine there and added a nice skin..

Put in my DVB-T usb tuner..

Scanned for the Saorview channels... Found them..

Went into the media portal and i could see the channel names but weren't able to decode..

Checked the TV settings and found the codec being used was MPEG2..

Saorview uses MPEG4, so i'm looking where abouts to locate that and how to install it..

Also video codecs, i.e for Divx and .avi's are they to be found somewhere also as i tried to play a divx file and got a codec error!

Thanks for any help given!

Yours greatfully!

On my fresh win7 boxes, I install SAF5.0 before installing MePo.

For MP4 files I usually select ffdshow DXVA
    for MPEG2 (avi/divx) I usually select MPC-MPG2 (Gabfest)

What codecs you can select inside MePo depends on what you have installed of course.

I see there's a push to the LAV Filters too. I haven't tried that particular package.

I also found that SAF6.0 didn't work for me at all which is why I'm still using SAF5.0

LAV filters all the way if Windows 7, these can be installed using the MP extensions installer, use M$ for video unless nvidia gpu, then use LAV and enable cuvid, LAV for audio.

SAF6 if on XP or Vista
