Hi all,
I am considering a move to mediaPortal from using Windows Media Center purely as a method of recording tv using three Hauppauge freeview and sat tv tuner cards.
I already use Plex to run my huge library of Movies, music, TV series etc and for the most part I am happy with plex and it works on all required devices within the home. For that reason I am not looking to replace Plex, at least not at this stage, which brings me to my questions.
1) Will MediaPortal and Plex happily co-exist on the same system? (Likely to be Windows 10 if I follow through on planned upgrade)
2) Does MediaPortal require any third party programs for supplying the program guides (needs to be UK guides) and does it support program search to plan recordings? (this was the attraction of WMC although it was far from perfect)
3) What format are recorded programs created in? ie mp4 mkv mpg etc as I use VideoRedo to tidy up start and finish and remove adverts.
4) Will MediaPortal work with Hauppauge tuner cards?
Thanks in advance for any help provided.
