Hello

I am currently using a Popcorn Hour C-200 as a my media player but I consider to change to a HTPC and then maybe running MediaPortal. I have installed MediaPortal 1 on my PC now to learn to use it and see if the GUI is what I like.
I have still not done any descision on if I want to change to HTPC or not.

I have all my media files stored on two QNAP NAS stations.
NAS 1 contains video in VOB format with titles from A - S
NAS 2 contains video in VOB format from titles T - X
NAS 2 contains photos in JPG and RAW format
NAS 2 contains music in FLAC format

I have video in both DVD, Bluray and 3D quality ripped on the different servers

I see when I choose servers for the video files that its only possible to choose one of the two serves so I don't know how to connect the MediaPortal to both servers at the same time.

With my configuration will MediaPortal be a good alternative to my PCH C-200 ???

Thanks

Petter

If these locations have been scanned, and show up in the database, then inside Mediaportals GUI, you need to change view from shares to title, then you can see all your files.
If you wish to automate this procedure, then use the MovingPictures plugin or if you like to totally control your data\files then MyFilms will do that also.

    Thanks Ray.

I have tried to select both NAS servers on the menu Video Database -> Scan but when I then click on "Update database from selected share", nothing happens. So I don't know if I have done anything wrong here ?

Is there any firewall active, generally I just add mediapotal.exe as a exception, are you able to view the shares inside MP's GUI, thats always a good clue if its being blocked.

Yes I am able to view the files on the NAS servers and the Media Portal is working fine when I browse on the NAS and watch DVD, listen to music or show photos.

I checked again and its only the first NAS I am able to see the video contents.
As I said I have videos on both NASes.
Music I have only on NAS 2 and I see and can play all my music.
Its only the video which is split into two NASes that is not working correctly.

And scanning is not starting for any reason.
I have diasabled any firewall just to be sure.

Are the shares actually selected? (tick in the box) Usually it's the simple things we forget.
