Hi everyone!
First time acutally writing in this forum, even though I've been reading in it for some months
Just wanted to say: FINALLY!
Finally my HTPC is almoast everything I want it to be, all because of MediaPortal.
I had a PC hooked up to my TV now for the last 10 or 11 years. In the early days I did put downloaded movies on VHS tapes for my friends .... aaaww .. the good old days. I've been trying almoast every mediacentersolution there is.
Windows MCE, sucked so much ass
Vista MC, did not suck so much ass. Really liked the TV part of it
LINUX MCE, forced me to buy new hardware ... and even then it was terrible
Myth TV, same as LINUX MCE only less things that could go wrong
and then i tried asus and neros mediasoultions. If you ever get the chance to do that, pass on that. Really. That is two weeks i'll never get back from my life.
I didnt just intall, discard and whine about them. I installed everything and really gave them a fair chance. But somehow i always ended up back with windows explorer ...
Until now.
The last screeenshot and SpinSafe 1080p is very close to perfection.
I run everything on a Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo E. Very nice machine with HDMI out. Also comes with a MCE remote control. My TV is a Samsung 1080p, and everything works great, except blueray movies. They tend to lag every now and then, but i'm sure that is a codec thing more than Media Portal thing.
Well, anyway ... just wanted to say thanks. Thisone is a keeper. Even my girlfriends likes it.
