MPEG2 Audio Codec: ffdshow and Dscaler
    Satelite/CableTV Provider: Cnal Digital DVB-C

OK, here is what I have gathered. When I run ffdshow I get no audio on Animal Planet, but I do on all other channels (except Eurosport I think, but we dont watch that anyways). If I change to Dscaler I get audio on Animal Planet, but then I cannot use ffdshows audio delay (bummer since I have a plasma with some video lag).

Does anyone know why ffdshow cannot decode Animal Planets sound track bur dscaler can?

Here is log files, first from dscaler with audio, mp started, animal planet tuned and then exit. Then the ones with ffdshow which not works.

    Hi,
I have the same problem on DVB-S & if i change codecs to Cyberlink it works, seems like some codecs doesn't understand the audio stream from some channels.....

I have the same problem with DVB-C and ffshow for Animal Planet and Eurosport. No audio and sometimes not even video. Just a freezed frame.
Only for those 2 channels. My provider is ZIGGO in the Netherlands.
    I use 2 FloppyDTV Tuners.

I also tried different codecs but nothing seems to help.

FFDShow Tryouts has been updated, but not as a release on sourceforge, the only way i know of getting it is through Vista Codec Pack 5.0.3\4.

This allows you to chose for MP1\MP2 under audio codec config "libavcodec" which will play some mpeg streams that the libmad will not, libmp3 will also work but bad sound over all.

I removed the tryout ffdshow codec due to flickering in divx playback. Now I'm using microsoft mpeg1/dd (or something like this) codec. This works for Animal planet, HDTV and eurosport. The only 'problem' I have left is not getting dolby digital output through spdif for divx video's. But I can live with this.

Animal Planet uses a single MPEG2 channel (96kbps) for audio.
Mediaportal MPA-Decoder can't seen to handle that. :(

    Dscaler AudioDecoder 0.8 works best
