I'm trying to see the channels in the TVGiude section of Mediaportal. I'm not talking about the tvguide data itself. I have that, but when I click on TVGuide, it says there are no channels, even though I have plenty. I am guessing that I may have caused this. I added another tuner card and my old tuner had some 'junk' channels that I wanted to remove, so I went into SQL server and deleted those rows from the channel table. Everything is working fine, except I can't get my channels to display in the TVGuide. Can someone give me a hint where to look? Maybe the SQL database doesn't like non sequential records or something?

Thanks for any help.

Yes, I did and it works great. I have two cards now. I just want the list of channels back in my TVGuide.

If someone could just tell me how the database is queried to display the channels in MediaPortal TVGuide, I could maybe figure out why they are not displaying. I have one channel showing up, even though all are checked to show in the TVGuide. If I uncheck it then I have no channels, but I can't get any other channels to show. I know I have EPG data because when I select the channel to watch, it shows what is playing.

Thanks!

Or can someone tell me where I can find the source code for the TVGuide. I tried finding the source code, but there are so many files - not sure which file to look in.

Figured it out. I was trying to clean up old channels left over from a previous card, so I had deleted the channels with SQL, but the channelmap was still referencing some of those old channel id's. Apparently when the TVGuide hits a non existent channel it stops. That's why I was only seeing one channel. I just had to delete the non existent channels referenced in the channel map table, and all is well.:D

I used SQLserver to edit the database directly to fix the issue. So what I did was looked in the groupmap table and checked that for every idChannel value in there, that there was the same idChannel value in the Channels table. If a groupmap entry references an idChannel that can't be found in the Channel table, that's when the problem occurs. Then you just delete that line in Groupmap.

    Hope that helps.

thanks for your answer, as have no experience working with sql, how did you manage to alter the database in sql. did you use any managing program?
where can i find the database? could it be an option to delete the database and let it be reorganised by mediaportal itself?

A standard install of MS SQL installs the SQL Server Management tool. That's how you get into the SQL tables. I probably go into there more than I should - normally you should let MediaPortal handle changes its own way - but for simple corrections I feel comfortable using SQL. If you don't know anything about SQL, I don't know if I can explain enough how to do it here. You may need to go into MediaPortal Configuration and see if you can remove mapped channels in there. Or delete your channels and do a rescan.
