Ever since MP 1.1.0 RC1 I think, I have been having problems with the start-up of Mediaportal. When I start MP using my remote control, My Music doesn't work (I see a blank screen the moment I get into a specific folder), Online Videos doesn't work completely, some buttons don't respond in My Videos etc. etc. However, when I start MP by a simple double-click, everything works fine (even all the buttons on the remote control). What could be the problem here?

BTW, I am currently using a Logitech Harmony 555 as a replacement to my Hauppauge 45-button remote that went with my HVR-1300 TV-card. I've added some info to the irremote.ini so that when pressing the green button, MP starts. Then I connected the green button to an activity in the Harmony Remote software as a means to start MP together with my other equipment.

Also, I would like to note that if anyone has a solution that bypasses Hauppauge's irremote.ini, I'm all ears! Let's just say that I'm not using the Hauppauge software because it's the best, but because it's the only software that seemed to work until now...

    Hi,
I have just noticed the exact same problem. Been trying to work out what was wrong for the last 3 hours. Would play some movies and not others. Then tried starting it by clicking on mediaportal.exe instead of the remote/irremote.ini, and all was fixed! Wish i'd found this thread 3 hours ago.

    Any luck fixing it?

    Cheers,
    Divxmaster

I've created a fix for this, until a better method comes along.

When trying to run mediaportal from irremote.ini, it seems to get the working
directory wrong, its \wintv which stops mediaportal from working.

So, to fix, create a .cmd file to run mediaportal instead. I created
    a file startmp.cmd in \windows containing:

    %homedrive%
    cd "\program files\team mediaportal\mediaportal"
    start mediaportal.exe

then change the entry in irremote.ini (I use GO/home button on remote to start):

    GO={run(c:\windows\startmp.cmd)}

Done. Works great. startmp.cmd is in windows so you dont have to put silly 8.3 paths in irremote.ini.

    enjoy

    :D Divxmaster,

Your solution makes sense and everything now works like a charm! It's handy to have someone who knows a thing or two about programming, because I would've never figured this out on my own...

    Thanks again!
