Here's my issue I upgraded from an old build of Mediaportal 0.2.3.3 I believe, which was very stable and gave me no issues to 1.0.0.0 RC1. In the process of doing so I had to completely wipe out my old installation including my movie database (its the only way that the installer would let me install RC1). Anyway, after updating my movies from IMDB I discovered that I could no longer see my cover art in shares view for ISO files. I CAN see cover art for other types of files such as DIVX and XVID. However if I switch to title view all the art is there. What gives? I prefer to use the shares view because I keep my movies grouped in different folders and do not want to have them all mixed together as they are in title view. Is there some sort of workaround to allow me to see the cover art for ISO files while in shares view? Thanks for any help you can give me.

No DVD cover image when browing shares

Hello,

It's nice to see that someone else has this problem...

I have 4 or 5 installations of MediaPortal (on different machines). 3 of these always have the newest SVN installed (currently SVN-Snapshot:-07-11-2008 10-18h - Revision:19603) and each exhibits this problem.

I have not been seeing DVD covers when browsing by shares for either ISOs or IMGs for well over a year. I've just not got around to looking into it. It seems to me that it occurred sometime around a major database change. DVD covers appear for all other file types. I know that the DVD cover is available because when I request film information (cached IMDB info) the cover appears (immediately) with the film description. The covers can also be seen when browsing the library (by year or genre).

I think that this may be because the routine that queries the database for cover information does not strip out the ‘.iso’ or ‘.img’ in the file name because it is not a ‘default’ file type, but this is just a guess. I have been intending to download the source and take a look but have never had the time.
Has anyone else out there seen this or found a solution?

Thanks
Chris

I did some digging around on the forums after noone responded to my post an discovered a tedious workaround for this issue. If you copy the cover art from the folder where mediaportal downloads it (c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\team mediaportal\mediaportal\thumbs\videos\title) to the folder that contains your .ISO files Media portal will then be able to see the pictures. Just be sure that the name of the cover art file is the same as the name of your .ISO file (i.e STUFF.ISO and STUFF.JPG) I don't have any .IMG files on my HTPC at the moment, but I would assume that it would work the same. I'm really surprised that this glaring issue has not been fixed.

Hope this helped

Anthony
