    Hi,

I'm watching TV only via IPTV, using the DVB-IP part of the TV-Server and a modified version of the MP directShow input filter. Everything is working fine (good picture quality, fast zapping, etc...), except for the epg data.

The TV-Server doesn't get the epg data from the dvb-ip stream. The server starts to grab the epg data but doesn't find anything. Attached you will find the epg.log that was created when I tried to grab the epg data for one channel.

The stream contains epg data. VLC shows the current running show. I found a program on the net that extracts the epg data from an .ts-file (ts-file was recored using vlc). This program was also able to get the data. Thats why I think the epg data are conform to the dvb standart.

When I record a show using the tv server, the recorded .ts-file does _not_ contain any epg data. So it seems that the tv server eliminates the epg data but cannot use it...

Does anybody know if epg grabbing works with dvb-ip in the current tv server? If it sould work, what is wrong with mit setup? If it doesn't work, can anybody point me in the right direction where I can add epg support in the dvb-ip part (hey, MP is open source, but it is too big to start without help :D).

If needed I can post a test .ts-file...

    :D

any news on this topic? Do I need to use XMLTV ora something familiar even when the data is sent in within the stream?

    Thank you

AW: Re: No EPG from DVB-IP

Well, had another look on the log file and found the reason: The transponder id (transport id) in the TV database was wrong. For some reason the transport id must have been wrong when scanning the channels. Changed it to the id that the epg grabber was expecting and voila.

But it didn't really help me. My provider (Alice Germany/o²/Hansenet) airs epg data only for the current show and the next one. Great

Re: AW: Re: No EPG from DVB-IP

How/Where in the m3u file can you specify the transport id?
My current file look's like this:
    #EXTM3U
    #EXTINF:0,1
    Udp://@233.139.53.1:5501
    #EXTINF:0,2
    Udp://@233.139.53.2:5501
    #EXTINF:0,3
    Udp://@233.139.53.3:5501
    #EXTINF:0,4
    Udp://@233.139.53.4:5501
    #EXTINF:0,5
    Udp://@233.139.53.5:5501

the numbers 1-5 is because i don't know which channels are on the different ip's, if you know a way i can make the scanner find the name automaticly it owuld also be great, i know the name is sent out somehow, because they pop up, when i scan for files in ProgDVB. :)
