No genres are fetched (1 Viewer)

I am using Moving Pictures, but somehow I do not get any genres. I get all other data, but just no genres.

I thought this might had to do with the filmtipset.se scraper which I used, so I switched to using the Imdb+ scraper script, but the effect is the same. I can see in the movie manager that the movies now are fetched with the Imdb+ as the primary source.

Has anybody else had this problem and is there a fix to it?

Thank you.

No issues here. I assume you re-scanned your movies after you changed to the IMDb+ scraper?

    Logs might be useful.

I switched the IMDb+ language to 'Swedish' on my test-box and imported a test movie "The Sitter (2011).avi", and it came up with no genres indeed. So it looks like the filmtipset.se website has changed their HTML code.

Will fix it, so expect a new IMDb+ scraper-script in a short time. Keep an eye on the IMDb+ forum, as I'll post news on update there.

mArBLe, it's fixed in v4.3.6. Normally IMDb+ plugin only checks for updates once every 24 hour period. You can adjust this behaviour inside IMDb+ plugin settings if you want, either by checking more often per day, or everytime you launch MediaPortal.

You can also verify that IMDb+ scraper-script v4.3.6 was installed by opening IMDb+ plugin inside MediaPortal and using the hidden menu -> "IMDb+ Info" option to get details on your existing setup.

If you still have problems, let me know.

And thanks for bringing this issue up, because it is impossible for me to constantly verify if every possability of IMDb+ still works, as it has quite a few options :)

That was quickly fixed RoChess, appreciate it.
However, I cannot seem to find anything in the Imdb+ plugin settings to change the update interval. Where is this setting located?

That's the thing. I enter my Plugins -> Imdb+ and then show the hidden menu, but all I see are the options for "Force Imdb+", "Update metadata", "Imdb+ info" and "Moving Pictures".
Any option for "Settings" is missing for me.

Sounds like your skin doesn't have the Settings menu.

You can try to install the 'Extensions' plugins with the MediaPortal Extension Installer. After install start MP, enter 'Extensions' plugin, select IMDb+ and enter settings from there.

Yes, that's a part I should have mentioned, the IMDb+ "Settings" only show when the MPEI GUI "Extensions" plugin itself is installed (available as easy MPEI itself). It also allows IMDb+ to give you update notice when a new version of the IMDb+ plugin itself is available (though this can be done easy via the "Extensions" plugin itself as well.

On the plus side; at least 24 hours have elapsed by now, so if you start MediaPortal again, it will also check for updates with default settings :)

Okey, good, because I tried switching to the default skin and the settings option was still not there.
However, I installed the Extensions plugin and now the settings dialog can be opened.
Also, the scraper is now fetching genres correctly.

Thank you for the quick fix.
