I'm a complete newbie so please bear with me. I don't know how to show all my system data, so this is what I think is relevant. I have a pentium 4 2.8Ghz with 756MB Ram on XP Pro MCE 2005. I have ffdshow beta installed and Power DVD 7.3.

I had v2.2 installed and it worked fine. I can do everything I want to. Then, after rebuilding my PC from scratch I installed v2.3 RC3. It won't play DVD or my home video .ts files. It simply won't open the files. It will play my .avi files and MCE works fine.

I uninstalled 2.3 and replaced it with 2.2. Everything works fine (2.2 and MCE). I uninstalled 2.2 and replaced with 2.3. Same problems as before. I have re-installed ffdshow - no change.

Any ideas? Do I need some new codecs?

Thanks

Eric

For others who may have the same problem, I appear to have solved mine by re-downloading and installing RC3 and also installing a later version of ffdshow. Videos and DVD now work. Not sure which of the above fixed the problem, probably ffdshow.
