MediaPortal Version: 1.0.2.0
MediaPortal Skin: Blue3Wide
Windows Version: XP Sp3
CPU Type: AMD Athlon64 4200
HDD: 400 GB
Memory: 4 GB
Video Card: nVIDIA GeForce 8000 series

Hi, I was looking through the forums and this seems like a simple issue, but I cannot figure it out.

To keep it simple here, all I am using for input is a keyboard and mouse. In the configuration, under Remote, NONE of the remote option checkboxes are checked (in other words I have told MediaPortal I am using no remotes or other devices).

The problem is: when I play video (all DiVX or XViD avi files), the video goes to fullscreen, and at this point NO keyboard commands will work. Untiil, I right-click the mouse button, and that menu comes up with "1. Change Aspect Ratio 2. Previous Window 3. Bookmarks." You know the one. If I then just 'X' out of that menu with my mouse, the keyboard actions all work fine. Spacebar=pause, B=stop, etc.

I suppose right-clicking into that menu is a quick fix, but it's really annoying, especially because I plan on mapping a DVICO remote to keyboard strokes, and mouse clicks cannot be mapped (but the remote isn't anything I need help with). I have this problem with every skin that I have tried (Blue3, Indigo, Core/Reloaded).

Has anyone fixed this, or have any ideas here?

Thanks for your help!

Nevermind, I probably got no replies to this because it was such a n00b question.

MediaPortal wasn't "always on top" and so when it launched the media player I was controlling something else with the keyboard. Pressing the mouse served to bring MediaPortal back to be the active program, and thus the keyboard commands started working again.

15 years of IT experience with Windows and I couldn't figure that out till now. Who knows what I was smoking. Anyway, I hope this helps anyone else with the same problem.
