Hi

I am sorry but i find that there is not much logic in the fact that TV-SERVER will not run on windows 2003 SERVER ! (A bit ironic that the server part will not run on a server)...

I have a 24/7/365 server that would be perfect for the task but cannot install because it is not supported.

I always thought that server 2003 was just another "version" of XP so why does it not work ?

I tried to just continue but then it wants me to install WMP11 which is not supported by 2003 server.

So i found a workaround for the WMP11 and got it installed anyway and the installer does not want me to install it anymore.

Got right to the end and everything was looking fine until i actually tried running the tv-server ...

"Your platform is not supported by mediaportal team because it lacks critical hotfixes".....Bla bla bla..

Why is it that every time i give mediaportal a new chance i always end up having to go back to mediacenter ...

Is MediaCenter supported under Windows2003 ?

Simone

No it is not

It runs standalone on my mediacenter PC but the clever thing about mediaportal is that i could make it record the programs i want without having to have my primary mediacenter pc on. This would mean that a show that aired in the night would be recorded by the server instead of now where my mediacenter is on all night to record.

If that one needs to be on anyway i see no advantage in mediaportal..
