No mpeg2 HD after clean install (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

with Mediaportal 1.0 being available, I decided to do a complete clean Windows XP SP3 install as described in the forum's tutorial. Besides Mediaportal, PowerDVD8 and AC3filter, I have no other codecs installed on my system. PDVD8 is used in general for TV and Movies, AC3filter in general as Audio decoder. Everything is working fine so far, even HWacc is working for H264.

However, I cannot watch or play mpeg2 HD videos or TV within MP; the files simply won't open (no error message). In Cyberlink's player they run fine.

Windows Media Player 11 refuses to play those videos as well, displaying a message "the graph couldn't be created".
It seems that something still is missing. Can anyone help?

ok, here we are....

sequence:
- start Windows
- start Mediaportal
- goto Videos, select HDTV Folder, select mpeg2 HD movie (not playing)
- close Mediaportal
- collect logfiles

update:

Just renamed the files from .mpg to .ts and now they play in MP.
Any explanation to that? (how come they played in my setup before, even with the "wrong" extension? Codec/merit issues??)
