I didn't saw problems with the database connection. So I'm not sure if that was the problem. There were also no problems before, but after installing plugins, removing some old MP stuff or reconfiguring MP, The problems started.

I have now fixed it by totally uninstalling MP (including user data) and installing again. More work, but with success.
