No-signal problem on Qbox S2 USB DVB-S2. Probably problem between diseqc/MP (2 Viewers)

Sorry for the delay - I have been very busy with real life and other issues...
I'm afraid I don't have good news. The code that I added does not seem to have helped at all - it does not seem to be relevant for your Qbox. Because of that and because LNB 2 seems to work I'm a little confused. I think something simpler must be wrong. It is interesting that the generic network provider does not work for you. How did you know to check that?

Can you please try to scan for channels on LNB 2 (Astra 19.2) with DiSEqC set to simple A or LevelAA. I know this will mess up your channels a bit, but I think it is important to check whether the DiSEqC command is actually having any influence on the successful scanning of LNB 2. If the channels from Astra 19.2 are successfully picked up with the wrong DiSEqC setting then we know that the DiSEqC setting is having no effect. In that case I will contact Cody from TBS and request more information on how to implement support for the Qbox 2...

Also, can you please try scanning for channels on LNB 1 (Hotbird) using each of the DiSEqC settings. Please make sure to scan at least 10 transponders on each setting just in case.

I have very good news!
Your code works good! You are GREAT !

What I've done different than last me tests:
- Deleted all TV channels and Radio channels
- Before starting scan, i've done the following steps:
a) set Network Provider to DVBS
b) set Diseqc to required value
c) from windows services stopped TVservice
d) wait 5 seconds
e) start TVservice
f) after 5 seconds pressed Scan Channels!

Last time as I remember I didn't stop TVservice service in this way..

This time all my test were done with start/stop service procedure.
Answer to your questions:
I've tested generic network provider vs DVBS network provider and DVBS works. Generic no. But during test on LNB1 with diseqc set to Simple A, few transponders were scanned

and few no ? Strange...

Logs from "scan for channels on LNB 2 (Astra 19.2) with DiSEqC set to simple A or LevelAA" attached.
And logs from scanning LNB1 too. Using Diseqc set to SimpleA and LevelAA with Network Provider set to DVBS (works) and set to Generic(doesn't work).

During scan using LNB2 with Diseqc set to LevelAA - MediaPortal TVServer Config crashed.. and I've to star it again..

My satisfaction was premature
After two hours, it stopped to work..
I suspect few things:
- windows update that changed something in system...
- EPG that I've switched on to be gathered
- magic

At the moment I'm trying to bring to the situation before the disaster. This includes reinstalling MP.
So far, I can not even lead to a situation in which LNB2 is scanned correctly, and is not scanned LNB1: (

At the moment I have a status such that:
- when scanning LNB2, get the message NO SIGNAL
- when scanning for transponders 1-4 LNB1 info I have NO SIGNAL. From 5 transponder signal and scans occur.

I will keep you informed of progress.

I looked at the logs you posted earlier and I can tell you that the code I added is having absolutely no effect, whether transponders scan successfully or not. It sounds like you have signal problems, or there is some other "external" variable that is affecting the use of the LNB in MediaPortal. I wonder whether the DiSEqC command needs to be repeated to ensure that your multiswitch receives the correct signal.

- Do you repeat the DiSEqC command in DVBDream?
- Do you ever has signal problems with DVBDream?

I'm confused... it desn't work.. I locked in logs and the only one difference between moment when it work and doesn't work is that in log from not working case is the sentence:

I don't have such problem with DVBDream. I don't have problem with signal int DVBDream even when I switch between channels from different satelites.
I have oem version of DVBViewer. It is named TBSviewer - added from Qbox manufacturer and it work without problems too.
Dreambox connected with the same cable (disconected from QBOX S2) works perfectly!

I don't know where the problem is ?? I have Prof DVB-S2 7301 card too.
Strange thing is, that during tests with prof card, I had a little similar problem. Problem was on LNB2 with no signal. LNB1 was OK But I don't have logs from this card. I can install prof again and make some tests ... But will it be useful ?

I'm willing to admit that you are right by writing that "there is some other "external" variable that is affecting the use of the LNB in MediaPortal". Because how to explain the problem, that at the moment I can not lead to a situation like at the beginning of the problem ... Even after reinstalling Media Portal... mayby I should uninstall all components including SQL database ?

I dont want to steal this thread, but did anything happen with the qbox 2 support? is it in the latest svn build?

Im suffering from errors in the log regarding this tv tuner. "LockedInOnSignal could not lock onto channel - no signal or bad signal"
The tuner can be working quite happy and then when i change the channel is stops working?

No, the code was not commited because it proved to be completely unnecessary - the QBOX 2 was not able to use it at all. I suspect the code that I wrote would support the QBOX 1 or an earlier version of the QBOX 2 drivers (an interface that is now obsolete). A number of people have reported issues with various TBS tuners but we have never been able to find problems in the code. Please post your logs so I can see what is going on...

[Edit: just to be clear, the QBOX 2 is and was already supported...]
