Hello,

I'm having major problems with sound settings in MP 1.0 RC2

There is no sound coming from MP (no clicks, no music). And that while the player is playing music. PLEASE HELP

I installed application last week. Everything worked fine for the first day. I changed some settings to configure my MP and all of a sudden there was no sound at all. I can't figure out what went wrong. I reinstalled application and changed everything to the default settings. Nothing seems to help.

Windows media player still works fine.
Windows media center still works fine.

So drivers should be ok i guess?

I'm using
- Core Duo E6750
- NVidea 8600GT
- Sound blaster x-fi
- Vista home
- 4 Gig Ram

I hope someone is familliour with this problem and can help me out. MP looks like the right replacement for windows media center. And i would like to test some more.

It must be a tiny little problem i think. But stupid as i am, I CAN'T FIGURE it out.

MP config, select advanced option (button top right in config screen)

    General\volume, select Vista.

Audio renderer should be set to default directsound device.

In Vista sound settings (right click on speaker icon in systray, select playback devices), make sure the right output is ticked as default.

one of above should fix this.

    Thankx,

Media Portal sound was disabled in vista volume settings. I was searching in the wrong direction. No media portal problem as i was thinking.
But i'm glad the problem is solved. Great peace of software by the way.

    Grtz Marcel
