No sound playing mkv (1 Viewer)

Hi everybody,

I’ve been having a problem for several weeks now with my HTPC. To summarize: When I’m playing mkv files, the video is fine but the audio isn’t working. MP is not muted and also not disabled in the sound settings. I can hear sound when I’m scrolling through the menu or playing avi or mpg files and when I’m watching the mkv files through VLC player everything is working fine.
Log files can be found in the attachments.

My HTPC contains:
- MSI P67A C45
- 4GB RAM
- Samsung TV
- GeForce GT520
- OS: Win 7 32 bit
- Audio via HDMI
- MediaPortal version 1.2.3

Additional information:
- Windows 7 is up-to-date
- SAF 6.0 installed

It doesn’t matter which codec I select for HD audio. No codec from SAF 6 is working.
There is also no difference between DTS HD, Dolby Tru HD, etc. None of them are working.

Therefore my question is:
- What needs to be done to get sound while playing mkv files in MP?

Cheers
Kevin

    Hi Runique,

maybe you got multiple audio devices active like onboard audio and GPU audio in your system.

    some things you could try:

    - Configure LAV Audio Decoder to bitstream/passthrough for all Dolby Digital / DTS Modes
    - Choose LAV Audio Decoder as audio decoder in Mediaportal Configuration -> Codecs
    - If Audio Renderer in Mediaportal Configuration -> Codecs is set to "Default DirectSound..." make sure your GPU HDMI Audio is set as default Audio in Win7
    - If you do not hear anything yet, set "Audio Renderer" setting in Mediaportal Configuration -> Codecs according to the audio device you want to use

    Good luck
